Alone With My Demons

by Kevin Harmon - Virgo

You rejected me,
and my demons came forth.
I dragged your struggling heart into the vineyard,
where I struck a fatal blow.
Your heart was lifeless, as had been your love for me.
But in death there is life.
Your blood pooled, and became an illustration for love.
There are no excuses for love!
Am I now guilty?
I have done what you only dream of doing.
Others heard, and there was great weeping.
Do you think there is peace now?
There is no comfort, as I take refuge within myself.
I cursed the night.
I am alone with my troubled soul.
Do not speak ill of me,
as It was my destiny.
I pray for foregiveness,
as I am led away shackled to my demons.
