“What Is Love All About?”
I thought of letting you go,
Then I thought of how I’d miss you so.
It was hard for awhile,
To wonder if I even loved you anymore.
But now I know that this is just how love goes.
With love comes many struggles.
It brings insecurity and doubts,
But with just one glance, you took that fear away.
You let me know what love was all about,
And assured me that it with all work out.
I know that love isn’t perfect,
And that it too, has its faults.
But love isn’t something that just comes and goes,
It’s something that will last always.
It’s something that we sometimes take for granted.
But what do you do, when you given up on love?
What do you do, when you been torn apart?
What do you do when someone’s broke your heart?
Pick up the pieces, and put them back together,
Don’t let your pain go on forever.
Think of what love has done for you,
And how it taught you things you never knew.
Don’t be scared to love again,
Don’t close your heart, and let it end.
Perfect love, there’s no such thing,
But love is something that can take away pain.
So don’t ever give up on love,
For one day you will find someone.

Reason for writing:
I have been dating a guy for about 11 months, and there are many times when I wonder why we are even together. Things don't always go the way I think they should, so I start thinking that I don't love him anymore. I wrote this poem because it expresses how I feel about our realationship. It also explains how it's hard to love again, after you have been hurt. I hope that you read this poem, and are able to relate to love the same way I do. Just remember that love isn't perfect, but there's nothing that can replace it.
