Your Mom called me last night Crying from a nightmare she just had She said no one knew how to give her any support Not even your own dad. She said she knew that I was your closest friend And everything you thought, you told me So she asked me why you did it And asked me why you wanted to leave. I didn't have an answer for her Because the answer I did not know I myself did not know why nor understand why you did it The painful side of you, you never let show. You know you could have came to me You know I would have listened to everything you had to say I can still see you leaving the party that night And I can still see the crash and everything as plain as day. You didn't have a drink that night No wonder it was weird when you hugged all your friends and said good-bye I remember hoping into my car and following you And I remember seeing the headlights from your car pointing up into the sky. No one will ever understand why Me being the one who really wants to But it's something that I'll never learn Because the secret remains forever burried with you.
