Silence

by B.Waterman - Libra

Silence cant be broken if it was never there
People who think they hear silence don’t listen with care

Silence can’t be heard for it consists of nothing
So you will never hear complete silence, you will always hear something

Whether it’s quiet with sadness or loud with rage
Or even your own voice as you read these words off the page

Or the faint voices from a conversation in the distance
Or the sound of you breathing as you pause still to listen

There will one day be silence sooner or later
Even now I hear my pen as it scratches the paper

Reason for writing:

People are always talking of silence, but you can never hear silence because you can always hear something. So does silence even exist
