the distance is far, the road is long. i speak to her lightly, almost in song. i ask her when, she says never. but i will keep trying, 'til we're together forever. i reach for her hand, hoping she'll take hold. but she always rejects, turning me cold. she speaks to me at night, but only in my dreams. in the morning i wake, holding back the screams. i love her dearly, of that much i'm sure. but will she ever feel the same, and of my pain be the cure?
