The wind blew slightly that day As the rain poured down hard You could hear it hitting the funeral homes roof As everyone, showed to you, their regard. I remember sitting there listening To the music that was played Visions of you running through my mind of past times While all the while, in your casket you laid. It was time for our row to file in line To say good - bye to you I was behind Uncle Jim And what he said brought tears to my eyes, but just a few. It was finally my turn to say good - bye And on your hand I placed mine You were so cold and I felt so alone Only then did my cheeks really start to shine. Mom, Joyce, and I walked out to the parking lot A long with everyone else and hopped into our cars I was dreading the ride to the cemetery For I knew, down the road, it wasn't too far. As soon as we got there the rain subsided And some rays of light shown through the clouds The service was held and everyone paid their final respects And the trumpets were played and the guns shots were loud. Your soul flew off to heaven that day Soaked up by the sun God took away someone good from this Earth A very very special one.Birth sign: Pisces
