Almost There I came too long to give up here I marched miles and miles I even overcame my worst fear It’s been hard but I made it I even had to become used to some of the things I hated I’m going to make it no matter what you say I also had to write some folks to tell them that I was o.k. The closer I get the harder The closer I get, it’s seems farther No matter what I eat I can’t seem fulfill that inner hunger As I excel higher It starts worsen, that long dreamed desire Trying to reach that place where no one judges me Where everyone is trouble free My feet may hurt and I can’t bend over But thank god for the help of another soldier I’m not alone there are others just like me Wanting to reach that place where Only in your dreams you see I feel and look terrible, but I must go on I’ve got to absorb the pain and finish out strong I’ve been marching for many years and I’m almost there I’ve made it this far and I refuse to give up here.
