Ease My Sleep By: Ann M. Hampton I spent last night praying for daylight Wishing yoiu were here to hold me tight, For I couldn't make it through the night Without you here. I awoke at 3 a.m. Only to find my pillow here, Holding it tight, alone Was my greatest fear. Lost and alone In this big, cold, and lonely world Was more than I can handle Of life as it unfolds. I'm afraid you're slipping away Through my fingers Like the sands of time. In my arms, I wish you'd stay. But I'm here somewhere in life alone. The emptiness only my empty bed shows. Please come stay through the night And ease my sleep until morning light.
Reason for writing:
Sleeping in an empty bed through life's difficult times.
