Silent Screams

Inside these walls
I've locked myself away
Forcing myself to stay alive
Watching everything pass me day by day.

Wishing I were someone else
Praying for a new life
One that's happy and spirited
Not filled with darkness and strife.

Everyday I cry out
Wishing to be freed from this dream
But behind these walls I cannot be heard
No one hears these silent screams.
