That day the sun shined a different way For tonight came with the price everyone had to pay The preacher’s voice stirring very low For even he knew her, his heart filled with sorrow The mother afflicted with the loss of her dear For she sensed that death was creeping near The mourning people flooded the aisles To catch a last glimpse of this lost child In that group stood her loving friends Relatives, acquaintances, the list would never end Her friend that was there at the scene Came with a present, a friendship ring While her falling tears fell upon her friend’s face She tried to consider she was in a better place Never would she see her again For her spirit is trapped in a far away land She whispered the words that no one knew That love was something that couldn’t undo Some one so perfect let their life go down the drain Just one night of fun caused this much pain Then suddenly the wind began to blow As they lowered her casket into the snow If you value your relationships, and intend to keep them alive Never let friends drink and drive
