I awoke with the noise outside in the street. Jumped out of bed onto my feet. Snatched my dressing gown from the hook And put my feet in slipper without bothering to look. Raced down the stairs and opened the door. Tripped over and nearly fell to the floor. Then I ran around to the side gate. Grabbed the purple monstrosity and couldn't wait To pull it down to the pavement edge. Handle facing outward over the ledge. Why so frantic? You may shout. I'd forgotten to put my wheelie-bin out.
