The Devil's Soul
Black is Devil's soul.
Cold is his wicked cruel heart
Fear and hate are his closest allies.
The fallen angel from heaven depart.
He laughs at the world he does rule.
He maneuvers and twists lives about.
His puppets are evil reflections,
that dance to his satanic shout.
Who shall take up the sword of the righteous?
Who shall fight for our souls to the end?
Look deep in your heart, lift your face to your God,
And see what you fight to defend.
The souls of the innocent lambs.
A world filled with comforting light.
A chance to turn back the hordes from below,
Those howling black creatures of night.
Fight well worthy soldier of angels.
Turn away from the baneful dark.
Remember the pure little children,
On this quest that you choose to embark.
Reason for writing:
Every once in a while my brain kicks in and I have to write
a poem. Be it serious or humorous the poem just comes to me
out of the blue. That's the way I write. This poem was
inspired by a book I wrote and I plan to use the poem
somewhere in the novel.
