When Life's Work is Done

by Christy K. Patrick - Virgo

Nothing but memories as we journey on
Longing for a smile from our loved one gone,
None know the depths of our deep regret
But we remember when others forget
Peacefully sleeping, resting at last
Life's weary trails and sufferings past;
In silenice you suffer, in patience you bore,
Until God called you home to suffer no more
What happy days we once enjoyed
When we were together
But, oh, how changed it all is
Now since you have gone forever
We saw you suffer, we saw you go
It crumpled our hearts, we loved you so
But it was God who loved you best
Who took you home, and gave you rest

Reason for writing:

My sister and I found this in my grandmother recipe box.
If anybody as any info on this please let me know.
