multi racial ponderings

by chanel - Virgo

this is not a poem.. just simple ponderings...but i will turn this into one some day

half black, half white
but a half plus a half equals a whole,
so why r their constant questions
and reminders that you are not anything
but a mongrel half breed race
if you looked at it from that perpespective
i dont think you can say
your not mixed either
because you are.. whether you believe it
or not
i have so much history running through my veins
im not biracial directly
but i can honestly say
i am multiracial...
african, iroquoi, cherokee, swedish, japanese, irish, and other things we dont even know
i am proud
so why does everyone put that down
or gawk and stare..
trying to figure out what exactly to name you
what box of race do you fit in
i just reply
im from the race called human beings
and what are you?

Reason for writing:

its in progress... i know its bad.. but i just needed to say something about it.. to just put down a rough draft before i gather my thoughts for a poem..
