From obnoxious weeds to pretty grasses Different types of corn to little seeds This is what I got myself into That agronomy contest that deals with farm crops and weeds. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication To place in the top ten out of the state And since our team only has three weeks to prepare for it We're pretty much just relying on fate. Dr. Watson, our animal science teacher Really feels confident about us And from what I've been told he'd really leaning toward me I'd hate to let him down and cause a fuss. I'm not real sure why I put myself in this contest I took animal science to prepare myself to be a veterinarian Farm crop contest with weeds doesn't really come close to that But it's senior year and I'm getting into everything that I can. I'm leaning towards doing track this year But sports aren't really my thing They don't get me any closer to my goals that I've set So I think that thought I'll just fling. Sorry, I kinda got off the subject Lets get back to talking about weeds It's not an exciting topic, I know I'd rather talk to you about different dog breeds. So with this whole agronomy deal If I do good in the contest for the class I'll get an A I suppose that's one main reason I'm doing it It'll boost my grade point average so hey! Just in case you're wondering No, I didn't take the easy senior route I've piled myself high with hard honors courses Seeing that first 4.0 is where I shoot. I'm giving up sleeping in tomorrow Just to go to school on a Saturday I know that you think I'm crazy But I don't really have anything else to do in the day. At least it'll get me a step closer to the top ten And my friend Kari will be there so it's not just me Agronomy, weeds, seeds, grasses, and crop plants It's allergy heaven can't you see?
