City Life

by Cheriece White - Gemini

Boys and girls, playing like I have never seen before,
Tall buildings so close to one another,
With two women talking across the distance.
Teenagers, young and old wear their flyest looking cloths walking to the park.
There, people play chess, checkers and cards of every kind.
Grandma's and Grandpa's, Abuelas y Abuelos hover around in their loundge chairs,
Talking project gossip.
Music is being blasted while teens play basketball.
Music so loud it can be heard city blocks away.
Vender's at each coner,
Trying to make their life-savings.
The kids.
The Kids are playing hopscotch on one street side,
And play double dutch on The other.
So much pride.
They have so much pride.
The adults from every where are walking to the stores, bodegas and their apartment buildings.
People are listening to Spanish music in one ear and then listening to Rap/R&B in the other.
Beautiful people, beautiful spirit, beautiful everything.
City Life, GREAT life.

Reason for writing:

The city, in it's own way is the most beautiful and fun parts of any state. I failed to realize this until I sat in one of the parks in Brooklyn, took a look around, and openned my book.
