The Distance By: Ann M. Hampton The miles between you & I- The thought of it, just makes me cry. The thought of the two of us being apart. I can't feel the distance in my heart. For whe I think of you, It's like yoiu're here with me. For in my heart is where you'll be. WHen talking to you on the phone, The distance I feel is on your side. I feel you are scared and wanting to hide. Don't feel the distance will tear us apart. If what you say comes from the heart, Show me that you'll be true, Show me that I can love just you. The distance, if our love is true, Won't keep us apart, But will bring us together To join two hearts. The love will grow, the trust will be shared- If deep down inside you really care. It sounds to me like you're Slipping away. Please don't let the distance Stay. Open your heart; let it speak to me. Let your true feelings really be. Don't let the distance play a part. Show me you love me from the heart. I'll be your shelter, For you won't find a broken heart here. For the only tears you'll shed with me Are tear of joy--What can't you see? My love is here; I'm for the taking. Are you worried about our lovemaking? Don't worry about a thing. I want to share my heart with you To show you the way. Let "us" have a chance to prove To the world our love can be true-- Even through the distance.
