Begin Again

by phillip bligh - Leo

I walked across the empty beach.
The sun shining brightly on my bare feet,
casting shadows in the imprints they left,
imprinting a smile on my face.

How soon the night came, turning everything to shadow
and the rising tide wiped clean the beach i'd stained.
For that smile on tommorows brow did furl
and in the wake of dawn a new world began.

I pray that you've found that smile again
and found no absence in
or laughed at passing seasons
who abate the summer that one day comes
for us all where we can begin again.

Reason for writing:

    dunno
