I was happily bliss
For a moment
I was able to forget
The reality of things
For a moment
I felt needed
Wanted
Adored
Accepted
Everything I had been craving lately.
For a moment
There was peace
Compassion
Caring
Caressing
Then the moment was gone.

Killed by reality
Harsh words
And indifference
Took their rightful place.
Cold air and rejection
Were all that was left
For a moment
It didn't seem so bad.
