Texas

by Mystyblu - Taurus

Something about the state of Texas,
love at first sight.
Flat as a pancake,
hot as hell,
beautiful in every way

Businesses have two things waving in the wind,
flag of Texas,
flag of the United States.
Texans are so patriotic.

Got into an argument
with a Texan,
said "Remember you didn't win the civil war"
bad, bad mistake.

He got so riled!
"At the Alamo, 100 men killed 7,000 soldiers"
he exclaimed, chest bursting with pride.
I wanted to say "What does that mean"
but he was so handsome
in his wranglers and cowboy hat
that I kept still.

Amazed at how green Texas is,
every home has a lawn
that is well-kept and neatly mowed
amazing site to see.

On Sunday morning, the streets are quiet.
after all, this is the bible belt.
All good Texans are at their
house of worship.
With what's been going on lately,
it is a comforting thought.

Can't wait
to load up the car
and move to Texas,
lock, stock and barrel
already have a little Texas accent.

I am a wanderer of sorts,
lived in many states,
but Texas
will be the one I will call,
home.
