All of my life all I wanted to do was ski. Just that feeling of cold air rush through your body is a relief from the stress from school and relationships. I want to ski so badly, it’s starting to hurt. When I ski I forget about everything and I look to the beginnings of something new. I have been skiing for so long and have been waiting for a challenge that could change my life. College is a challenge but I know for a fact that no matter what anyone says, I can do it. I will succeed if it takes me everything that I have and all of my free time. I need to ski, so it can bring my grades to a steady stand-still and keep my time regulated throughout the weeks. When I’m in a sport, I do better in school and since my sports would be skiing, my grades will sky rocket. Just waiting for the week to end so I can ski, I know that I have to do good first before I go. Skiing is a big part of my life, and I’ll do anything to keep it that way. It’s time for me to show what I’m made of. People have thought, since I have a learning disability, it would be hard for me to succeed in life. Think again. It’s time for me to show my family and friends that I can do it and I will without a doubt, no questions asked that I will be very successful. I already consider myself successful since I made it to Denver. The part that will drive me to my success will being able to go up to the snow capped peaks, and ski so fast that everything will be behind me and a new look in life will be in front of me. I’m personally ready, I don’t know about you. Kevin A. Friduss University of Denver

There is no important message in this poem other than the way that I will succeed in college and in my future. I encourage you to get into a club or sport because from my experience, your life will just get even better than it probably already is.
