they won't remember

by Antwan Fields - Aries

our petty fights, jason, chanel and others being insulted
will mean nothing to the next generation
that inherit this website
a pool of veneration
and we will be forgotten
crumbled up like tobacco and lost
or ending up like hemingway
drunk, dead and star-crossed
an impasse has been reached and we watch each other warily
friendships should be forever
but let one word of critcism from a friend issue from our lips
and the ties we have severly sever
from jason to chanel, alexis to the tatooed messiah
angela to nicole, chritty to chelle
we must remember that even sandburg and frost, two of the best
were criticized with the regularity of a tolling bell
but to just say your poem sucks-this is not a criticism
it is a calculated lunacy, with anger involved
like the asshole who said rape is cool
we haven't heard from him, so i guess his problem is solved
i hope i live to be fifty
and this website lives on for many proceeding septembers
because by that time we'll be fossilized but we'll be idolized
but our pettiness and anger, mine included, hopefully won't be remembered.

Reason for writing:

god, when we become famous, i hope this will be forgotten
all this you suck bullshit. which i used to get routinely and jason and chanel and others like marvin still get regularly.
