Chit-Chat

by Nicole M. - Gemini

Don't take this the wrong way, but....
Why do you let yourself be so shallow?
With a raised eyebrow- Gee, how could that be taken the wrong way?
Frustration crumples his face- I mean, initially, why do you let yourself come across as so thin and simple?
A half smile- It's just easier that way, it's part of being an enigma.
a coy look- Watch those big words.
A sly smile across my face- Need to come over and use my dictionary?
Inquisitive stare- Do you ever sleep?
A smile of quickness- This from the man that never goes to bed before two in the morning.
Stumped- Alright, I don't know what to say to that.
With indifferent confidence- From the way you're avoiding my question, I assume you won't answer it.
Uncomfortable puppy dog eyes- I'm just trying to figure out a way to say I can't come over without giving the wrong impression.
An unphased chuckle- Well stop pondering, I never asked you.
Perplexed eyebrows- You're so complicated. Just when I think I have you figured out, you say something completely unexpected. And your seemless mix of dry humor, sarcasm, and seriousness...I can't decifer it.
A grin of accomplishment- It drives you nuts, doesn't it?
Puzzled contortion- What?
Cheshire grin- Uncertainty...it drives part of you insane, but the other part just thrives in it...always surprised, never know what's coming next.
Divirting glance- You psych majors. How did we get onto this subject? You're suppose to tell me why you're not yourself.
Disappointment- And who says it's not myself? It's just the me I want people to see. That's what I do everyday.
Unbelievable- Anyone who knows you, loves you.
Can't-You-See- That's because I'm the Me they are comfortable with.
Disbelief- But why? I think I know they you without all the filters, and I love you...hell, I even like you.
Solemness- People may like me and love me...but how many respect me?
                         Silence
