Little Humor

by Nicole M. - Gemini

One of those moments that'll define your memories
And stories
It was one of those...

My mind set: High school junior
Place: Guys and Dolls play
Who: "that" best friend and her mom, and "that" guy

Sort of giddy and in our collective mood
Why couldn't we have sat in the first three seats
Instead of the three removed
That lone chair that I was stuck by
   I believe in fate
He sat down in that loan chair
And what I could only guess as that age
Was what smelling refried was
Followed him and sat in my lap
Much in the way of it's master.
I missed the whole first scene because of his chit- chat
"They are quite the actors...Like going to plays....What are we missing...Don't you think these high schoolers are just genious...
My eyes straind from rolling my eyes
And only had half a seat...
Imagine me huging the other arm of my seat
Not to touch the stranger taking the other half-
He finally shut up
But still had no problem taking half of my seat
Making me practically sit on the other arm.
With a large sigh of relief
And spreading out...I relished in the fact he left...
I got comfortable and forgot about the man...
Until he returned for the last scene...
I missed that scene too, and I've been going to a chiropracter ever since...but the cherry to top this off is...

He was a one man standing ovation
and people were stairing at me
As if I were with him.
