Even the Birds

by sourpuss - Leo

Her wings are as bridges between the babe she protects and
The evil one who destroys.
Each new day a newer crisis occurs, but each day the bird
Returns home to find peace and comfort.
Slowly but surely she will given into the evil one who waits
For his prey.

Just as a bird never knows what is next; how she will get
Home or what she must face.
So we must wonder sometimes how she continues working for
The end.
Could it be that she knows if she perseveres her protector
Will return.

How one might think that if such a tiny bird has a sense
Of love and feeling;
So shouldn't we who have such a larger and more powerful
protector also.
It is He who loves us even to proclaim His power inside of
A lowly bird.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem when I was a teenager. The central essence of this poem lies in our creator. He loves even the sparrows. How much more does He love us? I have always loved writing poems about nature and comparing nature to God's love.
