You broke my heart, Crushed all my dreams, The day you walked away. I wish in part you would return And show me that that is just the way it seems. But for now, I'll go on living If not the way I had planned. I just hope God knows what he is doing Because I'm putting it in his hands. I pray to him Every night And grab my pillow And hold it tight. I lay down and think of you Each and every night. But for now, I'll have to settle For just being your friend, And I hope somewhere in time, He'll see fit for "us" To be together [again] In the end.
