You Stood By My Side By: Ann M. Hampton You stood by my side- When times seemed for me to be really tough, And you were there when life of rme became rough. Only because you stood by my side When during that time, I wanted to run and hide; You stood by my side- When no one else would. You never left me Like everyone said you should. You saw things in me I couldn't see in myself. You taught me the skills To survive by myself. And still, you stood by me To make sure I'd succeed, And sure enough, I did indeed. I wanted to thank you, For all you have done. I'm a success in life; This accomplishment, I've won. And it was only possible Because of what I felt and yet couldn't see- Your love and caring As you stood by me.
