You Gave Me Your Wings

When I was down with tears on my face
You showed up and with a smile quickly replaced.
When I was scared and filled with fear
You opened your arms and lended your ear.
When I was lonely and wanted to die
You lended your shoulder so I could cry.
When I was angry and tired of things
You gave me your halo and even your wings.
When I was everything you wanted and so much more
I closed myself up and shoved you out the door
And because of that I'm no longer your angel today
But you let me keep your wings so I could remember after you walked away.
