People You Once Knew

To get you must give,
It is the law of all life,
To have moments of happiness,
You must have moments of strife.

Look back at the moments,
Of past joyful years,
And remember they too,
Were once full of tears.

You smiled with your friends,
And you cried with them too,
Now you just remember them,
As people you once knew

The people who made you laugh,
The people who made you cry,
The people who were honest,
And the people who would lie,

The people who pushed you on,
And those that got in your way,
They all played a big part,
That helped get you here today

So continue down the road of life,
But as you do,
Remember those who got you here,
The people you once knew.
