minutes pass

by Antwan Fields - Aries

stuck staring at each other across a wide divide
divine interference has come to us again
miserably we stare at each other, waiting for one to get closer
but it never happens, and we'll never know when
we grow up hating each other, you called monkey face and things like that
and me, trying not to be carver fringie, yet failing
the evil built up inside me for minutes, days, months, years
the time it took them to write "the sum of all fears"
minutes of my existance wilt and die away
never to be repeated in any way
what we do is what we are stuck with
with every passing minute
that we have the life and the light
with every passing minute, it fades.
