faces

by heather - Taurus

faces. those stark, unassuming apparitions.
lay it down between the pasted un-
reality of your life.
break the mirror on your Snow White wall.
curse the days you left, screaming at your mother,
wings straining for the slightest whisper of air.
catch the angry breeze of solidarity and wrap it
around your shoulders to keep out the piercing frost of the dreaded Unkown.
taste the acid building in the back of your throat.
stare in the face of purity. laugh, skim round,
and continue the dirty dance of assurance
on the other side.
