Passing Seasons

by J - Taurus

Passing Seasons

Why does winter come?
Passing through our city once again
Trees are lifeless, their leaves are gone
The earth is frozen and covered in white
Winter comes each year
So we remember the days of summer

When will summer come?
To paint our trees and leaves
To bring the earth alive with life
With birds flying in the bright blue sky
Summer will again come
When winter passes us once more

Reason for writing:

I love the changing seasons and was just in a right inspirational moment to write this. I have written poetry before but have never put anything "out there", so this is my first one and would love to hear comments if there are any. Thank you. Jan~
