I'm walking towards your house, I walk in the front door and up the stairs, As I walk in your bedroom door, I see the images of a girl between the sheets, They are images I wish to erase. I shut the bedroom door, Walk back down the street With you shouting at my back. I try to burn down the pictures, You've left inside my head. I curse the spell you had over me, So I couldn't see the truth. I curse the spell your eyes had on me, For not letting me see who you really are. I curse and burn down your heart, For pretending to be in love with me. I curse and burn down my heart, For loving you the way I did. I can not help thinking about those images, Of walking in on you with my best-friend I curse her for having to have Everything that I possess. I curse you for going to her, When you had me to turn to. I curse you for sleeping with her, When you never really loved her. I curse you for being a fake, For being everything I dreaded. I curse you for making her pregnant, For not supporting the child or her. I curse you for what you did, To her happiness and to mine. I curse her for weeping and crying, Begging me for forgiviness. I curse myself, For forgiving and standing by her, When it was clear no one else would. I curse my best-friend For the stupidity of her youth.
Reason for writing:
This poem was based on the theme of a girl walking in on her best-friend having sex with her boyfriend, and the issues and consequences arising from the act. Forgivness is also used with the girl forgiving her best-friend, however this sometimes does not happen.
