The necklace

my life i gave to you
to hold on to, until i return
that necklace, more than it is
it's history, my history, of 17 years
hold on to it
when you are worried or scared
i will feel your pain
as you will mine
no matter my distance
from being away
that necklace will keep us together
it has linked us two
now you are the owner
of the necklace, i want
you to hold it for the
rest of our lives, 
as we become one
