In the middle of the night I woke up from my snooze, My tummy was rumbling, I needed some food I looked in the fridge, Opened the pantry door. There was nothing to eat, I felt so poor Disappointment came over me, I knew I was doomed, I would have to walk empty tummied back to my room Then what did I see? Sitting in front of me, The most beautiful apple I had ever seen I picked up the apple With a trembling hand I chomped into it hungrily, It tasted so grand That apple so shiny, So deliciously ripe, Satisfied my hunger In the middle of the night.
