Taking Back The Crown

by Elisa Hinson - Libra

It's been 2 months now
And time has proven much
I realize you were never
All I built you up to be

Like that hot smoke smell
That followed you around
Well I've smelled it
On others since
And you know what?
It was only weed

And your pseudointellectual
Ramblings?
Well they are just that
In five years I have yet
To see you do anything
To further your dreams

Nor do you live up to
The high expectations
You place on everyone else

I have loved you
And I have watched you
For nine years now
And I know
I never really knew you

Or what I knew is what
I made up in my own mind
Your inability to commit
To anything
Was your freespirit

Now I see you are
Merely afraid

And your love for me
Was just a falsity
You created to amuse you
In between your other loves
Something to occupy you
In between all your dramas

You are
Dishonest
Disloyal

A waste of my time

I should have known better
When you didn't get Bukowski
