My revenge won't consist of hate or anger My revenge won't be to get even Nor to look away My revenge won't kill a life Nor wound an innocent to get to the enemy My revenge won't consist of words Or flying fists My revenge won't be seen as it comes Or invisible to the wandering eye My revenge won't be to break up two people in love Nor bring two opposites together My revenge won't be kind Nor be seen as cruel Instead My revenge will be to always do right My revenge will consist of forgiving those that done me wrong My revenge will be to survive and battle my way through what trial has been brought down upon me To succeed in what wasn't suppose to happen Nor exist My revenge will be to love those who've wounded me To take what they've done and mold it into accomplishment on my part And not theirs My revenge is to learn as much as I can about myself from what has happened My revenge is to smile, joke around, live My revenge is to forget what has happened but not forget their names Why? Because only enemies speak the truth Friends and lovers lie In order to stay friends Because fighting back only proves the enemy right That they do indeed of control of you Because if you remember what they did to you You'll grow to be bitter It is better to remember their names and forget all else Because "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" Because forgiveness seems crueler to the enemy than just punishment Because staying happy despite what has happened proves that they can't reach you And indeed, that is the finest revenge.
