I wonder if that face of yours
Saw just the same as mine;
Witnessed all those tiny parts
Bullet holes in point-blank range
Another streak of misfortune
In a game you were not ever meant to win
Tunnels in the ceiling
Of an almost empty world
That, after taking in so much
Returns with one dark thought
That without many means
To give a second chance
Enters my mind, just like it did
With many others before
Disguised as a key for the helpless
A cure for an itch
I still feel it calling
I still hear its screams
From the broken angle
Of a dreamer on watch
Still through the distance
It's an unsettling tune
Calling the piper
To collect all his dues
At the same time I see
"There's no other way"
That's what you thought
Before turning away
Before turning back
Black into green
Forgetting the light
Through the dark in your dreams
Departure is nearing
On a station for none to use
No voice to stop you
So don't hold back
What I watch is past progressing
Into the perpetual motion
Of someone with no means to end the circle
But means to leave the game
Embracing your ticket
For a journey to freedom
On lead and the sky
A weightful decision
A little more pressure
Then dream ever lightly
Finally,
as black
turns to
red.
