POST-KISS

by An Old CyberPages Patron - Virgo

face is hot
like i'm holding it near the oven door
when you put your
imploring hand
in mine

skin against skin
twin hearts
beating in
cavities now
swollen like the bows
of trees
grown for violins

and then my smile
like a love scene smile
from the old black-and-whites
guileless
and whole-hearted
imparting
surrender

i need you
like blood
in my veins

to give me peace of mind

i've felt as if i were unwinding

but you cherish me
and re-wind
