An Innocent man's Wish

by Rusty Hinges - Gemini

Take those chains off..
Set me free..
Let me see the world around me..
Let me learn how it feels
When the sun points its accusing finger at me
When the wind wraps around me,
Pushing the sun's burning finger away,
I want to smell Autumn,
listen to Summer sing,
I want to challenge Winter,
share a dance with Spring,
Unbind me,Let me go..
This is not where I belong
I want cuffs replacing the blood on my wrists
I want shoes on the soles of my feet,
I want to breathe clean air,
I want to converse with people..not walls,
I want to feed on meals...not their shadows,
I want to learn the shape of a smile,
And the sound of a laugh,
I want to depart with this world surrounded
 by people,
Not to rot in this cell alone,
So free me..
Remove those chains..
Allow me to taste freedom..
Before collecting my remains..
