serpents whisper

by madison - Scorpio

and so it was
in the beginning
with a taste
of blood, red sweetness
powers were bestowed upon her
to bring down the heavens and earth

a serpents whisper...

his words
spoken from a lashing tongue
dripping sickening sweetness
promises of beauty
and
romantic dreams
he slithered himself around her
embracing her
into the safety of an ideal

and so it was
in the beginning
she came to you
in her misguided belief
and you looked
into her beguiling eyes
and from her tender hand
partook of the
blood, red sweetness
which wielded her the strength
of your
weakness

and so it was
in the beginning
a serpents whisper

so it is said
she continued to
hear the whisper of the serpent
and believe
in his promises
therefore allowing
the complete desecration
of her
soul

now it is written
from the depths of the darkest hell
she scratched
she clawed
she choked
and
the tears she bled
rendered salt into
her open wounds

and now...
she's standing upon solid ground
the wind caressing her
reminding her
of the power bestowed upon her
and the fruition of your weakness
becoming her strength

she has turned toward the sun
the beginning of a journey
in search of a serpents whisper
with a lustful thirst
for the blood
of all his kind
wielding
a sweetness
much sweeter
than before

and so it is in the beginning
