There she stands The messed up image of what she thought she’d never be The proud image of a screwed up family She fought when others would call her mom a whore She fought when someone brought up her father’s alcoholism She fought when her brother would rape her Now she sits on a park bench in NYC Stains of her tears imprinted on her cheeks like a painting Watching every hyperactive child and drawn out parent walk by She lives here Here on this park bench Newspapers as her only warmth The frozen raindrops of the winter as her only friend At night, she sells off her body To the middle-aged stockbrokers who aren’t getting enough at home from their wives Who feel her body with dirty, lying fingers Put their cheating tongues into her mouth, licking between her thighs Eating out all her purity She lays there motionless, night after night, letting them have their way Grabbing and sucking on their cocks to get the money for a better life After they’re done, the men go back to their screwed up fake lives Leaving her alone once again.
