My Name is...

by kayte - Scorpio

My name is Kayte, and I have a friend.
She is my lover; and sometimes my mother.

Reason for writing:

This is just a short poem to introduce myself on the cyberpages. I have often read poems here before. I'm hoping to make some friends among the people who write here, as I'm planning to contribute regularly.

My cyber name is Kayte, pronounced K T. I am a separated 46 year old Irish male, currently homeless and jobless. I am trying to be creative as one means of moving my life forward, having never been so low before. As well as poetry, I am also participating on a range of courses run for homeless people, including computers (I can now do about 20 words/min and also excel and word a little), cooking, hairdressing which starts soon, and some others. I also like reading and writing, and hope to learn how to paint and draw soon. I hope to find work as a typist or temporary office worker, or maybe a librarian (I do voluntary work in a library for blind people). I'm also hoping to become an aromatherapist or a hairdresser in my spare time.

As a way of cheering myself up, and trying to keep depression at bay, I have been experimenting with clothing, as well as the reading and the courses. I don't consider myself to be gay, but am really at home in what is called feminine clothing. I absolutely love knickers (I don't wear anything else as I believe that I look better in this underwear), and also bright colourful tops. I have tried on skirts, but as I live in an all male homeless hostel, I haven't been able to wear any in public, although I do own a couple which I have tried on. The most risque clothes I have dared to wear in public, was a see-though pair of pink trousers, with black panties and a short canary yellow top. I also like to wear make up, as I find it enhances my appearance, and I enjoy the ritual of application.

Although I am separated from my wife, after a marriage that was very difficult for her, like many men of my age, I am undergoing a change of life, or mid life crisis, as it is sometimes called, and I am hoping that we may be reconciled in the f
