I will burn a candle
I will light a flame for you
I will stare at it and remember
all those memories I never knew.

I will watch the flame dance
I'll pretend I knew you well
I'll pretend I have a second chance.

I'll tell it all I had to tell you
I'll tell it all I had wanted to say.

I will bathe in it's soft light
Maybe even say a prayer
Make- believe I'll be alright

I will watch the flickering flame
I'll stare at it intently
Probably whisper your name.

I will sit within it's glow
Just sit here and think about
The father I did not know.
I will burn a candle
And I will shed a tear
And as i watch the flame die out
i will wish you were still here......
