the great escape

by FireFly - Libra

Escaped-
Brandished so the burn would remind me-
Where I came from-

Now I can see the sun-
The life I never lead-
Has come now to bare fruit-

Standing still, waiting on the edge of the world-
Looking from the outside in-
A prisoner by own hands-
I made my great escape-
Pulled myself up with the rope-
Instead of lynching myself with it-

----my forks in the fattest part of the steak----
----the neon lights singing me lullabies---------
----and I bought a gun---------------------------

----late night nicotine and coffee stains on blueprints for the escape-------------------------------------------

----Allies come in strange ways------------------
----When proving to yourself---------------------
----you have titanium balls----------------------

Everything you know, for once-
Now needs to be practiced-
Everything you could of understood-
Now needs to be learned-
Or it’s on your head-
Crawls in between the bed sheets-
Into you’re cereal, each morning-

Reason for writing:

    bad breath
