Since The Day I Met You
By: Ann M. Hampton
We met on-line one September morn',
And from that moment, it wasn't long before our love was born.
A few days later, we met at your place;
It was the first time we met face-to-face.
We sat outside on the front porch & listened,
to the music on the radio; it played.
And for the day is what I stayed.
We sang & talked & shared some more,
And I realized that life with you
could never be a bore.
It was then that my heart fell for you,
And to find a way to be with you was something I had to do.
Through many of life's ups and downs, we have survived
Just like the purple rose you gave to me, it never died.
I've shed many tears from my eyes of blue,
But know deep down inside my love for you is true.
I hpe to have your love returned,
And I'm willing to teach yoiu what I've learned.
Love is precious and survives all
Even through life's many falls.
Love has more gives then it does takes,
And I'm still here after all your mistakes.
Love is patient; Love is kind.
Love withstands all the problems and crimes.
Love sees only the good and changes the bad; it's true,
For when I say that it's because
I've seen the change in you.
So take my hand and hold it through life
ANd open your heart to me,
ANd when you can do that
Then I know yoiu truly do love me.
You've shared the words now share your life,
Talk to me and tell me how you feel,
Tell me how, because of me, lonely now
Is something you never feel.
Show me your selfish ways are gone,
Show me the giving sid eof you,
For I have been doing all the giving
Since the day I met you.
