Walk Alone

by Ronda Hensley - Gemini

Everything I thought we had,
was never meant to be.
All was a mistake,
I can’t understand how I didn’t see.
A chance I wish I didn’t take,
is lodged in my memory.

Everything that we did,
was not wrong to me.
I will never look down upon it,
and shun the idea of you and me.
That once was meant to be.

Everything that I said,
came from the heart.
But, people just changed the words,
to kill my spark.
It left me in the dark,
and destroyed your image in my heart.

I say goodbye once again,
walking that life long trail on my own.
But its not all that bad.
It felt like I only had a half a soul.
Now I know that it was always whole.
And that I don’t need jokers renting my heart,
and leaving it in parts.

I can make it on my own.
I hope I made my point clearly shown.
I don’t need or want you or any other fool.
Take the time to step off my path.
Its time for my independent self to walk alone.
