Turning 30

by Jackee A - Leo

Seems like yesterday I was guzzling from a keg
Today I am sipping wine, usually red.

Seems like yesterday I blew my check on clothes
Today I make it as quick as it goes.

Seems like yesterday I crimped my hair,
Today I watch it slowly disappear.

Seems like yesterday I would dance till dawn,
Today I can’t make it through dinner without a yawn.

Seems like yesterday I had the body of a beauty queen,
Today I can hardly even button my jeans.

Seems like yesterday I was shy with butterflies,
Today I wake up to deceit and lies.

Seems like yesterday has come and gone,
Today is the day I allow my self to move on.
