Mummification Taken to the house of purification and lade on a stone, Sacred rituals chanted seeped into bone. Brain removed through the nose with a long hook, Placed in a jar, sealed the priest partook. Flint knife used to cut open the left side, Expert incision cut with glowing pride. Organs, stomach, liver and intestines extracted, Carefully placed in jars and sealed with a lid. Soft parts embalmed, placed in canopic jars, Hieroglyphic symbols encased the lid to the God Ptah. Heart was left to be weighed on entry to the underworld, This was the first act as the journey unfolds. Body packed with natron and left to dry, Material soaked in gum, sweetened with herbs applied. Linen covered the body gently rapped around, Charms and amulets placed where the material is bound. Layers of linen varied, Tutankhamun had sixteen in place, Finally the golden mask was placed over the face.Birth sign: Scorpio
