RETIREMENT

by Mark wells - Scorpio

The job I remember well,
Do this, do that…
Really it was a living high Tec hell.
If you could make the tea great,
That was my worst pet hate.
Keyboards clicked all day long,
Radios churned out the same old songs.
Glued to a computer screen,
I used to be fit and lean.
Applied for a managers role,
Now I’m paid off and on the dole.
Not quite retired still need a job,
To keep me active and earn a few bob.
I have hobbies but live on my own,
Only a few friends ring on the phone.
I think I will sell my plush place,
Buy a mobile home as my retirement base.
Down on the coast and money in the bank,
Retirement secured common sense to thank.
I had to go soon maybe it’s for the best.
I’ll keep an active mind,
While I enjoy my rest.
